Atelier de 3 heures de danse afro-cubaine avec Melissa Noventa et Arsenio Rafael, deux professeurs de grand talent, accompagnés d’un groupe de percussion LIVE !

Avec une maîtrise en ethnologie de la danse afro-cubaine, Melissa connait aussi bien les rythmes, les chants que les pas de la danse afro-cubaine. Son sens aigu de la pédagogie vous permettra de déchiffrer, comprendre pas à pas et apprécier autant les rythmes que les mouvements de danse. Avec elle, vous décomposez le mouvement pour mieux l'intégrer et le faire vôtre!... Après, vous aurez le plaisir de l'utiliser à votre guise!
Elle danse avec Ilu Ladé et participe à de nombreux projets. Nombreux sont ceux et celles qui ont pu apprécié ses talents de professeure et d'artiste autant en Ontario qu'ici à Montréal! Elle est boursière du conseil des Arts de l'Ontario. Dès que vous vous inscrivez, vous recevrez l'information théorique sur l'orisha qui sera étudié (svp fournir votre courriel).

Well known in Toronto as a great teacher and dancer, Arsenio knows how to push yours dance limits! We are lucky that Arsenio will be teaching in Montreal for the first time! Dont miss the opportunity and go enjoy this special experience.
Born and trained in Cuba, Arsenio started Classical Ballet at an early age, and while studying, was captivated by Modern Dance. He completed his dance training and studies at La ENA, (National School of Art, Dance) in Havana and gained his professional credentials in Modern Dance Performance and Teaching. He completed his teaching practice with Folklorica Nacional de Cuba and subsequently joined Danza Teatro del Caribe as Principal Dancer and Tutor under the artistic direction of Eduardo Rivero Walker. He was then invited to join the National Dance Theatre Company of Jamaica (NDTC), under the artistic direction of Professor Rex Nettleford. With both companies, he has toured extensively internationally and over time, he has worked with various companies.
Arsenio lectured in Dance at the Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts (Jamaica), where he taught Cuban Modern, Ballet and Repertory. He has attended the Holland Dance Festival in the Netherlands as an observer on a few occasions. In 2013, he was Creative Consultant and Choreographer for CARIFESTA hosted by the Government of Suriname. Now in Canada, Arsenio is on the faculty of teachers at Ryerson University Dance Department since 2010, teaching Cuban Modern Contemporary and Cuban traditional dance forms and also teaches/choreographs with Toronto companies - COBA, Ballet Creole and Kashedance.
